ABOUT WFCFD
The international Workshop in keeping with the tradition of Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT) to bring together leaders of the industry in India and overseas on a single platform to deliberate issues relating to a topical theme and address some of the critical and neglected unit operations within the chemical engineering field, encompassed a gamut of industries from pharma to food, specialty chemicals to bulk chemicals and polymers to organic chemicals. With drying as an integral operation, one resorts to unit operations such as crystallization, filtration and subsequently drying. The efficacy of drying entails not the dryer alone but is preceded by the other unit operations and by adjusting them, the load on drying reduces thereby resulting in integrated strategy of reduction in energy consumption as well as improving efficiency of the process. Further, in the chemical engineering curriculum, CFD is not considered in adequate details and the same is addressed as well.

WFCFD was initiated in 2006, while keeping the tradition of ICT, to bring together world leaders and experts in the field of Crystallization, Filtration and Drying. WFCFD has now turned a decade old and we are proud to have presented this Forum as a platform to not only established industries, but also to budding entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and reach out to a great deal of masses in the Chemical Engineering field.

Over the years we have broadened our spectrum and incorporated field of Granulation and Milling as well in our Forum.

The main objectives of WFCFD are as follows :
Encourage adequate basic training in these professions, and admit to membership only those of proven education, experience and competence.
Establish and maintain standards of proficiency through continuing education and/or professional experience through certification, so as to encourage competent and effective service.
Seek to enhance the prestige and distinction of the chemical professions and to extend their usefulness and influence for the benefit of the society.
Improve the economic status of chemical scientists by cooperating with employers to set employment standards that protect the interests of chemical scientists.
Establish and maintain the register of its membership.
Provide a code conduct, which protects the public from fraud and imposture, and justifies confidence in the integrity of chemical scientists.
Provide means for the appropriate recognition of distinguished service to the professions, recognize promising chemical scientists at early stages of their careers, and encourage qualified young people to properly prepare for and enter the chemical professions.
Cooperate with central/state government and local agencies concerned with legislation, regulation and guidelines to enhance the role of chemical scientists in the intellectual, material and cultural progress of the society at large.
Increase public understanding of the contributions of chemical scientists.
Render such other services to the chemical professions as developments shall warrant and the institute shall approve.
